Simple Charging

The Simple Charging service is designed to facilitate straightforward charging scenarios where the type of charge and quantity are already known. This service enables efficient and accurate charging based on predetermined rates and quantities.

Key features of the Simple Charging service include:

Predefined Rates: The service allows you to configure and maintain a catalog of predefined rates for different types of charges.
Quantity Tracking: The service tracks the quantity associated with each charge. This can include units of measurement such as minutes, data usage, transactions, or any other relevant metric.
Rate Application: When initiating a charge, the service applies the corresponding predefined rate to calculate the total cost. This ensures consistency and accuracy in charging based on the specified rates.
Flexible Configuration: The Simple Charging service provides flexibility in configuring different types of charges and their corresponding rates. It lets you easily define and update the charging parameters to accommodate evolving business requirements.
Real-time Charging: The service enables real-time charging, providing instant feedback on the cost of the requested service or usage. This allows for prompt billing and ensures a smooth customer experience.

Configuration in the GUI

This section describes configuration of a simple charging service in the GUI.

Product Configuration

Item	Description
Name	Enter the name of the Usage Type.
Description	Optionally, enter the description of the Usage Type.
Code	Enter the code of the Usage Type. This code will be used in the results of rating, charging, and billing.
UOM	Select kind of units which are in the Request. Pre-defined values are: Event Second Minute Hour Day Byte Kilobyte Megabyte Gigabyte Terabyte Money Piece
Aggregation Level	Level of aggregation on Event level.
Chargeable Event Stored	If checked, Chargeable Event will be stored.
Duplicity Checked	If checked, Duplicity check will be performed on Event level.
Rejected Event Stored	If checked, Rejected Event will be stored.
Request Stored	If checked, Request will be stored.
Rating Result Stored	If checked, Result of Rating will be stored.
Balances Responded	If checked, Balances applied during rating will be included in the Response.
Request/Response Streaming Disabled	If checked, Streaming of Requests / Responses to the Streaming Platform will be disabled.

Select kind of units which are in the Request.

Aggregation Level

Level of aggregation on Event level.

Chargeable Event Stored

If checked, Chargeable Event will be stored.

Duplicity Checked

If checked, Duplicity check will be performed on Event level.

Rejected Event Stored

If checked, Rejected Event will be stored.

Request Stored

If checked, Request will be stored.

Rating Result Stored

If checked, Result of Rating will be stored.

Balances Responded

If checked, Balances applied during rating will be included in the Response.

Request/Response Streaming Disabled

If checked, Streaming of Requests / Responses to the Streaming Platform will be disabled.

Charge	Enter Charge which will be applied.

Tax	Choose Tax which will be applied.
Tax Included	If checked, Charged Event is inclusive Tax.
GL Code	Choose GL Code which will be assigned to the Charged Event. If no GL Code is chosen, GL Code which is configured on Charging Class level will be applied.
