Time Zones

Time zones are essential in the accurate billing and invoicing of telecom services. When customers travel across the globe and use their services while roaming, it becomes necessary to present the correct time zone on the invoice.

To ensure accurate billing, the OCS.io solution allows for configuring a Local Time-Zone that serves as the basis for all billing and invoicing processes within the system. This means that recurrent charges are applied at the defined time of the billing cycle according to the Local Time-Zone.

For usage during roaming, the captured event’s time zone (Visited Time-Zone or Local Time-Zone) determines the billing cycle it belongs to. This ensures that the correct billing cycle is applied based on the event’s time zone. Invoices can be presented in both time zones for customer convenience.
