Segmentation

In the OCS.io solution, a Segment refers to a group of Customers, Accounts or Subscribers who share common characteristics or belong to a particular group. Segments may be defined based on various criteria such as geographical location, age group, usage patterns, or any other relevant attribute.

Segments help create targeted marketing campaigns or for offering customized plans and promotions to specific groups of customers, accounts, or subscribers. By grouping customers, accounts, or subscribers into segments, OCS.io provides customers with a more personalized and relevant experience while helping operators maximize revenue and optimize resources.

Segments may be used for various purposes:

  • it is possible to subscribe Offer such Discount to Segment and all Customers / Accounts / Subscribers belonging to that Segment will have that Offer activated

  • it may be possible to handle the Collection process differently per Customer or Account Segment

  • it may be possible to format the Invoice differently per Customer or Account Segment

  • it may be used for Reporting

Some possibilities listed above depend on OCS.io Deployment and Integration with other systems (e.g., Collection, Invoice Formatter, Reporting).

It is possible to change the Segment via API.

The link between Entity (Customer / Account / Subscriber) and Segment is not versioned in the OCS.io, which means that Entity is linked with only one Segment.

For example:

  • Customer was linked 15th of Jan with Residential Customer Segment.

  • Customer Segment was changed to SOHO Customer Segment on 1st of February.

  • On 3rd February, the Billing process was started from 1st January to 31st January. The Invoice created on 3rd February in the Customer section refers to SOHO Customer Segment.
