Event Data Records (EDRs)
An Event Data Record (EDR) is a data record that captures information about an event that has occurred. The record can include information about what happened, when it happened, who was involved, and other relevant details.
Firstly, EDRs used for Rating & Charging are typically collected from the network element or any other platform providing a service that needs to be charged. This type of EDR is processed within OCS.io, and the appropriate charge is applied. The result is that the EDR ends up on the invoice.
Secondly, the Management EDR is generated by OCS.io and contains all relevant information about what has occurred in the system on a particular level. For example, it may include details about a recurrent service being renewed. This information can be used for tracking and monitoring purposes, as well as for generating reports.
Both types of EDRs are essential for ensuring accurate billing and tracking of services provided by the OCS.io solution. The EDRs can also be used for troubleshooting and auditing purposes, allowing operators to identify and resolve any issues that may arise.
