Billing

Billing services encompass a range of functionalities and capabilities to support accurate and efficient invoicing and financial transactions. In this section, we will explore four key billing services: Absolute Billing Discount, Percentage Billing Discount, Minimal Spent, and Maximal Spent.

Absolute Billing Discount: This service allows the application of a fixed discount to the billed amount during the billing cycle. The discount is deducted from the total charges, resulting in a reduced amount that the customer needs to pay. The system provides options to configure the minimum and maximum thresholds for the application of the discount, ensuring it is applied within specific limits.

Percentage Billing Discount: With this service, a percentage-based discount is applied to the billed amount during the billing cycle. The discount percentage is configurable, and it is applied to the total charges incurred by the customer. Similar to the absolute billing discount, minimum and maximum thresholds can be set to control the discount’s application.

Minimal Spent: The minimal spent service ensures that a minimum amount is charged for a specific type of usage during the billing cycle. It acts as a form of penalty or baseline charge, ensuring that a certain level of revenue is generated regardless of the customer’s actual usage. The system calculates the effective amount based on the accumulated events of the specified type and applies the minimal spent charge accordingly.

Maximal Spent: The maximal spent service helps prevent bill shock by capping the maximum amount charged for a particular type of usage during the billing cycle. It sets an upper limit on the charges, safeguarding customers from unexpected and excessively high bills. If the cumulative charges for the specified usage type exceed the configured maximum, the system applies a discount to bring the charges down to the defined limit.
